Updated:2018-03-12 11:18:00

It is known to us that the prosperity of a city, a nation, or a country can not be divorced from a flourishing culture. The first “Moon Lake Chinese Traditional Culture Summit” will be unveiled with “promoting Chinese traditional culture and enhancing the ability of cultural innovation and creation” as its theme.
The summit will receive more than 1000 representatives in all walks of life as well as over 10 “magnets” from cultural, political, and business circles, including Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, Pan Zhenzhou, the first curator of the National Museum of China, and Qian Wenzhong, professor of Fudan University. They are to gather in Ningbo to have a better understanding of Chinese culture’s unique charm and to seek new demands for cultural development in the context of the new era and new industry.
The summit aims to shape and promote the Chinese culture focused on the Moon Lake in areas as Ningbo, East Zhejiang, as well as south of the Yangtze River so as to integrate culture with economy and create a globally renowned high-end platform with urban value.
More than 20 cultural events will be held in Ningbo from 08:30 am to 8:00 pm, on March 11th.
In the morning, Ban Ki-moon will deliver a speech titled "Chinese Civilization and World Peace"; and Qian Wenzhong will air his opinions on “Chinese Culture and Elementary Education”. In the meantime, Ban Ki-moon and Qian Wenzhong will also have a high-end dialogue themed with “Chinese Culture and Future Economy” with almost 10 guests including Yan Jiehe, Dean of Wuwei Academy and Feng Xiaozhe, initiator of the Future Industrial Platform, and close communication and exchanges with 1500 entrepreneurs from all walks of life.
In the afternoon, four sub-forums will be held in such places as Howard Johnson Plaza Ningbo, Guangji Zhongxin Primary School in Haishu District and Ningbo Tea Culture Museum.
The specific activities organized by the four sub-forums vary from each other with distinctive features, which are worthy of paying a visit to no mater you are interested in Chinese culture amid the new era, the inheritance of elementary education in the history, entrepreneur culture or in intangible cultural heritage.
